Los Angeles, CA asked in Consumer Law, Health Care Law and Landlord - Tenant for California

Q: Leased Apartment in CA. Coack roach from day 1, landlord offered another apt but same can happen there, want to be out

Coackroaches everywhere from bedroom to kitchen our stuff is still packed? Pest control didn’t help. Another apartment might have same issue . They are not helping us in any other way. Please suggest possible ways. Very scared of living here. I have seen a roach crawling on my 9 month old daughter. I have even complaint in Public Health dept for inspection but not very sure that it will help and it might be very lengthy process

A: You should try the new apartment. If the problem comes back then you are in a much stronger situation to either move out or ask for damages. You should consult with a doctor to find out your medical damages due to the cockroaches being in your apartment. Best of luck.
