Q: What can you do if the child support payment was determined wrong?

On the paper said her net pay combined with my net pay but the amount stated on the paper was actually my gross pay

A: If this was recent, you may have time to file an appeal, but not knowing when the hearing was held or at what level in the court you are, I can't help much more. If it was at the master's level, an appeal must be filed within 20 days after the date the order is received or the date of the order, whichever occurs first. A demand for hearing must be filed with the county Domestic Relations Section that issued the support order.

There's always the possibility that, even though the amounts are written incorrectly, the calculations could be correct. Try entering the numbes in the order into one or both of these calculators and see if the resulting amount of support is close to the amount of the order.

You should consider consulting about your support case with a local attorney experienced in family law. If you can't get in for an appointment before the appeal period expires, then consider filing the appeal yourself first to make sure you meet the deadline. You can withdraw it later if need be.
