Q: Can boarder patrol phone search affect people found in the cellphone? And can your visiting permit be taken?

My grandmother was crossing with her visa and visiting permit from Mexicali, Mexico to Los Angeles California and was stop because officials believed she was coming to work. She was just visit but my parents are going through a process to become legal residents. Her phone was search and pictures of my sisters my own kids my mother and other family member contact information was taken from her notebook and cellphone. Her visitation permit was taken and told she can get it for two years. What does this mean for her and what does this information they pull out of her phone mean for other people? Will they try to find this other people and investigate them even if no incriminating status was really found just accuse of coming here to work?
