Q: dad wants 50/50 but has no car cant keep a job

What are the odds my childs fater could take me to court and get 50/50 he keeps threatning me to take me to court i think just bc he knows i cant afford an attourney . he keeps saying he has everything set in place for it to happen if i dont give him what he wants when he wants it. He is very bi polar and i just left like 2 months ago while he was workibg out of town bc thats the only way i could have. The only thing i can think of is i have charges on my record from when i was younger. Could he use that against me!?. Or what else could he do to get 50/50 and loke i said he cant keep a job to save his life. Has no car no car seat....... And hasnt found another job since his job in flordia ended...

A: To answer your question adequately, a lot more information would needed to be provided to an attorney in order to give an answer that would be couched in practice. You don't say whether your married or if the child was born out of wedlock. You don't tell of your living circumstances or job and other critical facts. Many factors go into a decision as to what parent has custody or whether joint custody could be an option. Find an attorney who handles child custody litigation and go see them and answer the questions they ask to get a good answer to your question here.

A: Don't think it's going to happen. From what you've said, don't think he can afford an attorney to do this. Most would want a $2000 or more MINIMUM to file.
