Columbia, PA asked in Banking, Business Law, Civil Litigation and Consumer Law for Pennsylvania

Q: Can a bank back out of an already done deal on auto financing because i drive for lyft?

The paperwork was already done and I have possession of my car. After a week of having it the dealership said the bank saw I drive for lyft on my facebook and they are dropping my financing. Is this legal? It didn't even say I was using my new car to drive for lyft.

@Salim U. Shaikh

I have read over my entire contract and there are no parameters where it says I can not ride-share. I do not want to lose my car. I jumped through so many hoops to get it due to past debt. The dealership is asking me to bring in my most two recent pay stubs to get another financier but they already have mine photocopied from when I bought the car a week ago. I feel like it is a ploy to get me into the dealership so they can try to get me to sign a contract for higher terms or to try and get the car back.
