Q: If I did my community service, paid my fine, and went to traffic school, do i still need to go to court afterwards?
I was issued a speeding ticket later last year; I was tasked with 50 hours of community service, traffic school, and a fine. I was given 10 months to do everything, and now that I have everything completed, I have a court date scheduled later this month. Do I need to show up since I've completed everything?
A: That really depends on the court system. Where I practice primarily if the person has completed everything they do not have to appear on the compliance review date. In other counties they do. I would call the courthouse (circuit clerk or State's Attorney)
