Q: Issue with the investigator I am in more fear now than ever due to the investigator in charge of my case I'm the victim

The investigator received a call from someone falsely claiming to be me with a name and address of where the attacker might be. Once I was aware I called the investigator to let him know that was not me and I didn't know why or who would call him. As a result I had two men outside of my home at 5am banging on my door and walls yelling for the attack to come out. He was not and is not here I have a protective order in place. I was paralyzed with fear unable to move to grab my phone. One man was screaming that the police have been by 4x to look for the attacker. I do not trust the judgement of the investigator and I am not safe in my home and will be staying in a hotel to hope to feel safe. I had Lso let the investigator know I was not wanting to go further with the case and felt the attacker needed rehabilitation for PTSD and TBI. Jail won't provide the help the person needs. I am filled with fear and anxiety and don't want to be harassed by the detective or anyone. What can I do?

A: I would recommend contacting the District Attorney assigned to your case and/or your victim's advocate. If you do not feel that will work, or you have tried and it hasn't helped, I would recommend contacting an attorney to represent you as your victim's advocate; once you are represented by counsel, the investigator will have to communicate to you through your attorney.
