Tempe, AZ asked in Collections and Landlord - Tenant for Arizona

Q: Do I need to pay future rent after an eviction?

After a recent eviction (for an unauthorized tenant) I paid the judgement amount in full. Now my landlord is saying I must pay for rent throughout the original lease agreement rental period, which is over 6 more months. Doesn't the eviction negate the original lease agreement? I would have happily stayed and paid rent until June, but the eviction made that not an option. I moved out on October 30th, and she is saying I owe 4000+ dollars for the rent that would have been incurred from November 1st to June 30th, 2018. She is also withholding my security deposit and applying it to the alleged amount due. I thought all outstanding debts were covered in the court-ordered judgement payment.
