Omaha, NE asked in Contracts and Real Estate Law for Florida

Q: I lent my in laws money to purchase a house in a retirement community. We had a contract and they havent fullfilled it.

I lent my in laws money to purchase a house in a retirement community in FL. I had them sign a contract stating that they would pay me back by a certain date. That date has passed and they continue to making excuses why they haven’t payed me back. It stipulates that if they didnt repay the money the house would be signed over to me. It’s in a retirement community and I don’t know if that will be an issue. Or how to proceed. I want the house turned over to me

Thanks

A: No way to say for sure without first reviewing the contract documents. Also many retirement communities have a resident age restriction that could be an issue.

You need to consult with an attorney in your area to have the documents revieeed and then get specific advise.
