Q: Visit the US while waiting for K-1.

We've applied for a K-1 visa. We probably won't get it until April-May given the current waiting time. I'd love to visit my fiance in the US for the holidays. As European, can I entry the US on a tourist visa while waiting for my K-1?

A: You must be suggesting ESTA because you will not get a visa in time for the holidays. You can only apply. ESTA may be denied if the service or BP suspect that you intend to remain in the USA rather than wait for your K vis through the consulate.
