Denver, CO asked in Landlord - Tenant for Colorado

Q: Landlord right to visit without notice when informed by neighbor of Tenant Lease Violation.

Our Tenant was allowed 1 dog according to the terms of our lease. There is also a stipulation stating no visiting animals of any kind. We were informed by neighbors that there were 4 dogs and an extra person living in the unit. We stopped by the next day, without notice, and knocked on the door to find out if this was true. The Tenant let us in. The Tenant is saying we violated thier right to privacy by stopping by without notice. (even though it was true about the unauthorized dogs in the unit). The lease states "the Landlord shall have the right at all reasonable times during the term of the Agreement and any renewal thereof to enter Premises for the purpose of inspecting the Premises..." Can you tell me if we were within our rights to visit without notice, under these circumstances?
