Q: Should my landlord hold my deposit because I moved out the month the lease expires and refuse to pay that month rent?
My lease is set to expire December 30th, I gave a 30 days notice to move out on December 7th. I got a call from a tent who state that they were moving in on the 1st with a signed lease and deposit made, and I got a copy of that lease, anyways I moved out on December 2nd and now he refuse to return my deposit claiming I owe December rent.
