Greensburg, PA asked in Traffic Tickets for Pennsylvania

Q: Does a PSP have to tell you exactly how fast you were going and how they measured your speed for a 1 75 3362 A2-20?

I was pulled over the other day and the officer said I was going "about 70" and he caught it on camera. He said he would mail me the citation but the citation does not have the speed I was going or how he measured it on it at all. He was not behind me I was at a stop sign ready to turn left and he was coming up the road I was turning on to he stopped in front of me motioned for me to go and once I made the turn immediately hit his lights and pulled me over.

A: The statute says in excess of posted speed. He has to testify as to what speed it was. He doesn't have to say how he measured it at this stage. If you want to dispute it plead not guilty. The DJ summons should have the rest of the information but if you really want to contest it suggest you at least get a consultation with an attorney who handles traffic issues before that district justice.
