Q: I have a 12 yr old car. I hit a deer. The insur said the car is a total loss.Can I repair an not take the total loss.
These part are cheaper in other places. Can I just buy the part an fix this car myself. Not take it though the insur compay an keep from being totaled? Most the list an price is labor an paint cost..
A: You can have it totaled, see if you can buy back the car for the salvage value, and see if they will lower the buy back price, but 1) the title will be a junk title so resale will be next to nothing and 2) if there are any problems, you can't get it through inspection after you fix it, if it never tracks right, its on you.
