Miami, FL asked in Child Custody, Child Support and Divorce for Florida

Q: What is needed for a simple divorce in Miami? No assets. She moved out in 2013. We have an 11yr old child

We have lived separately for over 4 years now. We want to make the divorce official. I would like residential custody of our child for school purposes and because I own my home so this would give a permanent address for my child. The mother rents and moves often. Also, I pay for everything for my child and she spends most of her time with me. How is child support decided or is it agreed upon between parents?

A: You need a settlement agreement and parenting plan. You will each need to complete a financial affidavit since there is a child. With the income information the child support will then be calculated.
