Moraga, CA asked in Traffic Tickets and Juvenile Law for California

Q: When should I ask for continuance?

I don't know asking for a continuance too early in order to get a lawyer could hurt me. If I say that I need extra time to get a lawyer but I still have a month and a half to get one, will they still accept the request? Should I wait a while until I ask for continuance? If so, how long should I wait. As of right now, I have until February 26 to handle the ticket. I need to push it back to at least around March 20
