Q: Can police refuse to provide a copy of an "accident report" to one party (pedestrian) due to "criminal investigation" ?
Copy provided to vehicle driver for insurance claim. Pedestrian requested copy when contacted by collections for insurance co, a year later. Pedestrian not guilty of allegations and no proof provided of allegation that blind cane caused damage. Damage reported to police day after alleged incident.
A:
Generally you can get a copy of the report. There may be part of a report dealing with a crime--for instance if someone was doing drugs.
However if you were hurt in the wreck you have a right to have your bills paid unless you owned a registered but uninsured vehicle.
If you were hurt you may have a claim for injuries. If you need someone to walk you through that give me a call.
