A: Unfortunately, 29 over is a Class B Misdemeanor punishable up to 6 months in County Jail and up to $1,500.00 in fines. Also, this is considered a criminal offense which could cause you issues with future employment and school if you receive a conviction. You need to hire an attorney to assist you with this matter to make sure your future is protected.

A: The ultimate goal is to avoid a conviction on your record and minimize the consequences. It is possible that an attorney will be able to negotiate a reduction of the offense from a misdemeanor to a petty offense. Fines, traffic school and/or community service are very much possible. Jail is unlikely as this is your first offense of any kind.
