Lawton, OK asked in Domestic Violence for Oklahoma

Q: can a person file against someone they left. Not safe to stay, leaving the state due to threats, verbal, mental abuse.

Moved in with engaged partner, did not show tendencies of abuse throughout the relationship. After a month he started showing erratic behavior - argumentative, unfolding controlling attitude, name calling, locking me out of the house, acting as though it was nothing. It became bad, I knew I had to leave. After planning, knowing I had to leave the state, as I knew no one there. Gathering my personal belongings, having to rent a car. As mine was deemed inoperable. He started telling me I didn't need a car, I could use one of his, later threatened me with taking the keys, saying I could not use it. I did leave, he stole personal items, calling, leaving messages stating I left the personal items. He continued calling, (i blocked his number, it went into VM) leaving me messages, Had no choice but to change my phone number.

Now, I am feeling the stress load of all the abuse.

Is it possible to file a no contact against this person?
