Q: I am a victim in an assault with someone who has a previous recent arrest for assault.Can I approach him for settlement
He had an arrest 1 year earlier for assault and drunken swearing. He went to trial and the case was dismissed. I lost 4 teeth totally 10,000 to fix. I don't have time to do a trial. Can I legally approach the defendant and ask for a monetary settlement not to appear in court legally in VA?
