Allentown, PA asked in Car Accidents for Pennsylvania

Q: Can someone sue you for cracking their bumper cover when they gave you permission to park their car for them?

My sons friend could not park her car so she asked him to do it for her(they are both 17). He bumped the curb and cracked her bumper cover. I had no idea any of this happened until 3 Days later when I get a phone call saying "This happened, your son did it, I took it to the garage and it's being fixed tomorrow, this is what you owe me". She's saying if I don't pay her the full amount she will sue me. We offered to pay half since my son was the one behind the wheel and she didn't tell me about this until after she had already taken the car to the garage and arranged to have it fixed. I asked her if we could get other estimates but she already had the work done prior to contacting me. Now she is calling my son making threats and saying she will take us to court if we don't pay the full $850. She did not want to involve insurance and did this all out of pocket.
