Q: Can someone put a dog outside and close the door leaving the dog at largeto fend for it's self

It's my dog , my ex got mad at me , she put my dog out at 6 am air temp 17° . My dog is 14 , blind in one eye only has 7 teeth, breast cancer survivor, mouth cancer survivior .

A: Sounds like you can go pick up your dog, which is the easiest and fastest course of action. It may be that she is guilty of animal cruelty. You can try to contact the police and/or Animal Control but, if you are believed, the ultimate outcome of that, in addition to a citation or misdemeanor charges, is that your dog will be seized. If no one adopts it, and it doesn't sound like anyone will, the dog will be put to sleep.

A: With the little i know it sounds like animal abuse, cruelty to animals etc

however how long ago did this happen? if you do not report right away it might be hard to prove and the police may not act on it
