A: It might be difficult to accomplish your wishes with a deed. When I advise a client, I first try to determine what are the goals. If the purpose of adding you to the deed is to ensure you can stay in the house in the event of his death, then there may be a better way to accomplish that same purpose. For example, he could sign a Will that deeds you the home at his death provided that you were living in it with him at the time of his death. It might be beneficial to speak with an attorney, share your desired goals and then listen to the options as to how to best accomplish your wishes. Simply adding you to the deed would give you the rights of a co-owner. Good luck.
