Los Angeles, CA asked in Civil Rights for California

Q: I was pulled over by a police officer for a minor traffic violation. The officer yelled at me with his hand on gun.

Since then i cant stop thinking about it its almost as if ive been left with some sort or form of ptsd since then. All i did that morning was pick my boss up to take him to work as his ankle was sprained so he couldn't drive.

A: Don’t take this lightly. You have obviously suffered some kind of traumatic event and should get some counseling from a professional. You can also go to the police department and get a claim form to file your claim for mental and emotional distress caused by the officer who menaced you with his hand on his gun. Make sure you do that within SIX MONTHS of the date the occurrence or you will forever lose your right to file your claim.
