Media, PA asked in Car Accidents for Pennsylvania

Q: I was in an accident and the other party is at fault. They have basic pa liability coverage and that dosnt cover cost

What do i do? I didnt sign release on car because theres a 10k diffrence in whats offered and what the value is

A: If you have collision run it through yours and let them worry about it. If you don't, you can sue them for the excess if its a total loss. Tell them for starters you want to see the "valuation sheet." They will send it to you. It will have the value which you can use if you decide to sue the guy. Problem is they won't give you a check without a release.

In the meantime, if you were hurt, get treatment. Do not give statements over the phone or in person.

A: If you have collision coverage, you should submit the claim to your own carrier. If you do not have that coverage, you can hire a lawyer and sue the other person in the remote hope that he will have sufficient assets to recover from him personally in excess of his insurance coverage.
