Atlanta, GA asked in Child Support for Georgia

Q: Regarding Child Support: Will there be a written order?

My sons mother is not allowing me to see my son. We have been to court once for legitimation, the courts wanted some documents before moving forward he spoke about child support but I have never seen anything regarding paperwork. I want to stop paying until she allows me to see my son but I don't want to get in trouble. I assume if it is officially court order there would be some kind of paper trial correct?

A: You are correct, there should be a court order for support. That said, if you are in the middle of a legitimation case, it would be a bad idea to stop paying right now. Talk to an attorney about taking over the legitimation case for you and getting you some support.
