Fort Worth, TX asked in Probate for Texas

Q: What happens to things after someone passes?

My grandfather has recently passed and his wife is in prison. We have found papers stating that she has given power of all her stuff to him. And she has taken her name off everything they had together. There is a house and I have lived with him for 2 years and I wanted it because it’s my home. However, people are telling me that it is her house but she is in prison. I want to know what this means and how to get the house. Thanks

A: Call a local probate attorney in your area. I do not practice in this area of law, but if you call my office, I can provide contact information of some attorneys who can help you. Good luck.
