Sebring, FL asked in Landlord - Tenant for Florida

Q: as a homeowner what are my rights if i told a guest who is staying at my house NO Pets, and they later bring a pet ?

This question is for my 76 year old father in Bay county, Florida who let a female move into his house as a guest who is paying no rent. He is letting her stay for a couple of months till she gets back on her feet and finds her own place again. The only thing my Father verbally said in the conditions of her being able to stay, was No pets allowed. She has been there a few weeks now and has shown up with a Cat and my Dad doesn't know what to do??

A: He should give her written notice to leave and, if she doesn't, go to court to evict her.
