Q: as a victim of a rear-end collision with very little physical damage. is 8 thousand a reasonable compensation?

waiting at a red light was hit from behind. the insurance company for the person in the wrong has agreed to compensation of $2000. I am 78 years of age and on blood thinning meds. a CT scan shows no internal bleeding but I am experiencing loss of balance since the accident. to what amount is normal compensation in this matter?

A: You won't get $8k without a fight. You will need a statement from your doctor diagnosing your loss of balance, attributing it to the collision and giving you a prognosis for recovery. Even then, you may need to sue the other driver in Small Claims court. An attorney may have better luck. Unrepresented parties are not taken as seriously.
