Hollywood, FL asked in Real Estate Law for Florida

Q: We had a real estate agent come to our house to give us an idea on what we could sell it for. We did not sign a contract

If that agent sends another agent with a client to see the house and we allow it, does that mean that you now have a verbal contract with the original agent?

A: Possibly yes, especially if that buyer buys the house now as it was agent's lead that brought buyer in. Listing agreements are not required to be in writing. This is why you should not enter into these types of verbal deals and should not have allowed them to view

A: I agree with Attorney Klurfeld. It depends.
