Q: Can you get custody of a family member if you are 19?

I have helped my brother an his wife take care of there children for years but he is in jail now an she is unfit and wanting to sign over custody. Can i obtain custody of the children even though im 19?

A: Yes. If they are both willing to sign an order giving you custody and the court approved it. You can get custody.
