Memphis, TN asked in Child Custody and Child Support for Louisiana

Q: What kind of child support voluntary agreement can I have in Louisiana?

My girlfriend and me are getting separate in pretty good terms. She told me she don’t want to file a child support order because she knows I’ll provide for our 4 years old daughter. We already split our savings account and I will give her all the furniture since she is planning to buy a house on her own. I will like to make any agreement regarding child support legally so I don’t have any surprises in the future. What is the best way to do it?

A: I would recommend that you have any agreement in writing and made a judgment of the court. An attorney can help you do this, and the cost should be reasonable if the two of you are in agreement. Give me a call and I'll be happy to discuss with you further.
