New Braunfels, TX asked in Criminal Law and Federal Crimes for Texas

Q: can someone be charged with a crime or be given a ticket if the police officer doesn't show me personally the evidence?

so I was in a government schooling facility called gary job corps, and a security guard searched my locker and "found something" but when he said he found something he didn't show me what it was and when I asked him to see what he found he denied to show me. is it a texas state law to show me what he found in order to charge me? they are charging me with drug paraphernalia.

A: Yes, you can be given a citation even if the officer does not show you the contraband. You may enter a plea of not guilty to the charges and force the State to prove any allegations beyond a reasonable doubt.
