Denison, TX asked in Criminal Law for Texas

Q: Will a warrant be issued for old charges if my parole warrants were just lifted and my old charges now show up?

I was arrested in Dallas county on charges for possession of a controlled substance and warrants for parole violation in Denton county. Dallas county took me straight to denton where I went through the process of taking care of my warrants. My charges from Dallas didn't show up until after my parole warrants were lifted. I ended up bonding out on the Dallas county charges. Am I going to be issued another parole warrant for these charges now that I'm out even though I got them before my previous warrant was lifted?

A: It is certainly possible so I suggest you get a head of it by hiring a lawyer to take care of it before officers show up to arrest you when you least expect it. That way you can choose the time of your arrest.

A: If Parole did not consider the new Dallas charges, then yes, it is possible that another parole revocation will be filed. Contact a local attorney to look up the specifics of your situation. Good luck.
