Q: So I havent knowm my daughter for 4 yrs. I found out shd was mine when she was 2. Can i terminate rights?
By the time i found out i had recently gotten married and had another daughter and moved into my own home with a new job.
I now have 2 kids and a son on the way and havent seen my other child in 2 years.
I havent been put on the childs birth certificate or had child support instated.
A: Glad to see another Cleveland person in this! First and foremost, I'd be curious to know whether there has ever been a court order acknowledging you as the father. Unless you've held yourself out to be the father, or a judge has determined that you are the father, then you do not necessarily have any rights to terminate. I'd also be curious as to whether paternity (like a DNA test) was ever established.
