Athens, TN asked in Landlord - Tenant for Tennessee

Q: Can I get evicted for breaking up a fight in front of my apartment after the cops saw it was self defense?

My neighbor and his friends (3-4 guys) started a fight with my dad(a 60yr old Disabled veteran). My friend and I stepped in to break up the arguing. The neighbor kept going at it which lead to actual fighting. The neighbor brought out a weapon and attacked my dad, then attacked my friend for getting him off my dad(they both started fighting). A week later the cops said they saw it was all self defense, and asked if we wanted to press charges. I also spoke to my landlord TODAY and clarified with her that everything was okay and set, she said yes, but they have to figure a few more things out. 4hr later I get an eviction letter. Despite all that just happend. I feel none of this is fair and shouldn’t even have to go to court to fight it. My neighbor has been here for almost 2yr and has been in many fights (plus drug traffic) and they haven’t gotten kicked out. Yet here I am been living here since 2014 with 0 problems(except for this) and they want to eveict me.
