Q: What do I do if I was assaulted in a convenience store and tried to FILE A police report three time been told come back

i was assaulted in a store by the cashier on the 17th i immediately went to the sheriffs station was told someone would be out to talk to me around 4am by 10 am no one still had come very upset and sick I left. I returned to be told they were too busy and try the next day after 8. i returned AGAIN to no one taking the report . i was physically assualted ,pepper sprayed and threatned by this clerk I made that known the !st time i spoke with the person at the station

maybe you have to go over the head of the person up front at the police station.

ask for sgt or commander and possibly write out a detailed summary of what happened.

civilly you can always sue in small claims court

A: If you file a civil suit you can subpoena the video of the incident to support your case. Then the police might do something if your attorney shares the video with them. You MUST move fast though because some businesses erase or loop over prior video. In this day and age of technology it seems ridiculous that they would do that but some businesses have old technology. Get an attorney right away or your case could vanish... Unless you have some neutral witnesses.
