Duluth, GA asked in Child Custody and Criminal Law for Georgia

Q: Is there statue of limitations on interference with child custody in Georgia

When my daughter was 17 the boy she was dating was abusing her after I told them both they could not date anymore he encouraged her to quit school and runaway with him on three separate occasions I reported her as a runaway each timeshe was returned home and left again My daughter's personality changed 100 percent of who she was. I researched this boy who turned out to be 21 had criminal warrants I turned him in 3 different times . When u could keep him away from her she slowly went back to herself. In march 10th of 2018 she turned 18. On 03/28/2018 she had to be treated at hospitals at the cause of his hands but she would not admit it to hospital. I turned him in on that day for a violation of probation warrant. My daughter came home was scheduled to take her GED on 5/30/2018 getting back on good path, he was released on 5/27/18 she left with him again. I want to try to file those charges in hope he will have is 5 year probation revoked that he has already had 2 other violations

A: Your question is confusing, because it starts out asking about child custody, but then it gives details about your daughter's relationship with a boy who is abusing her. Without knowing all the details it's difficult to provide a thorough response. You may want to consider consulting with an attorney who can review all the details of your case and help you plan the proper course of action. -Homer P. Jordan IV, Esq. 404-620-1558 HomerJordan.com
