Q: Do I need to make payments on my husbands car loan after his death while waiting on the insurance payoff on the loan?
My husband passed away 3/23/18. He had a car loan with Wells Fargo. He bought the insurance on 10/2/14 in case of death it would be paid off. Wells Fargo is threatening to take the car if I don't continue making payments until insurance pays.
A: Find out how soon the insurance will pay it off and advise WF. But if payments are not made, WF could take action to repossess the car. So try to work it out with WF and make payments if you have to, to avoid the car being taken.
