Asked in Divorce and Child Support for Florida

Q: Can my ex husband pay my 18 year old son the child support directly?

Our divorce decree requires child support to continue a max of 4 years after age 18 if in college.

Ex husband says he is going back to Court to get a change to pay support directly to son. We are in Florida.

Can he do this if I object? Son will be living with me with me while in college

A: You must read your agreement carefully but generally speaking the child support goes to the parent, not the child.
