El Paso, TX asked in Child Support for Pennsylvania

Q: Divorced 2016. Child is now 3, can i file a child support order and get the past support payments since the divorce?

He was never on a child support order. If i put him on one now, can i get past payments from 2016? Or would it only be frome the time i start the order?

A: In Pennsylvania, it would only be from the date of filing your petition for child support -- not retroactive back to the date of your divorce, or the child's date of birth. Best of luck to you.

A: Not unless you opened a support case with Domestic Relations back then or your Property Settlement Agreement for your divorce mentioned having him pay you support. Absent either of those situations, your order would be effective the date you file so you may want to head over to DRO asap.
