Q: Is there any way to see why a mother lost custody of a child?
I recently found out I have a child with a girl who lost custody of a child a few years ago. I would to find out why if it was safety related I don't want my daughter around her.
A: If you knew the county the case was in, you can pull the file from the clerk's office. It is public record.

A: Go to the clerk's office in the county where the order was entered. You can get a copy of an order there. I would say, fitness is not the standard in Georgia for custody. It is best interests of the child. Simply not getting primary custody doesn't mean someone is a danger to their child.
