New Orleans, LA asked in Family Law for Louisiana

Q: Divorced and share joint custody. We had verbal agreement to split expenses 50/50 but he's not paying his half.

I have never asked for child support - only for my ex to pay his half of medical bills, school bills..etc. He owes me over $2,000 from the last 5 years of kids expenses. Keeps saying he will pay but never does. How do I go about getting him to pay his share? I have several emails of spreadsheets and pictures of text messages where he acknowledged owing. Can I sue?

A: You need to hire a child support attorney to get a judgment ordering him to pay.
