Cincinnati, OH asked in Landlord - Tenant for Ohio

Q: Is it legal for my landlord to give me a 30 day notice that my rent will increase $281/m?

We have new owners. I have been on a month to month lease. If I don't sign a 12 month lease, I will be charged an additional $75/m. They are renovating and have given me the option to move into a renovated unit for even more per month. I think they are trying to get me out so they can renovate and get more $. Rent increase is $261. Sorry. Increase is from $520/m to $781/m.

A: A month to month lease can be terminated by either landlord or tenant at the end of any month, by giving at least 30 days notice. If you and landlord cannot agree on the rent, either of you can terminate the lease.
