Philadelphia, PA asked in Contracts for Pennsylvania

Q: A contract for people to log some land but never agreed on an end date. They refuse to amend contact with end date.

A small company is logging land that is 2 acres and giving me (technically my fiancee) 1/3 of the $. They were supposed to start logging in March. It is now July 16 and they have barely touched the land. We never set an end date. We are about to build a house but are stuck waiting to start until these tree guys are finished.

They refuse to amend the contract with an end date. Is there a way to get them moving and do what we agreed upon or is there a way to cancel the contract all together? A lot of the things they promised to do in a timely manner was said on the phone and not in writing. Am I stuck waiting until they finally get around to doing what we agreed in the contract because we did not set an end date?

A: You'll need to have an attorney review the actual contract to give you an answer, unfortunately. Live and die by the words on the paper . . . .
