San Jose, CA asked in Landlord - Tenant for California

Q: For two landlords rentals, must the tenants give new keys to both when changing locks if one landlord still lives there?

We have a house with 2 landlords where they currently both live on within the house. One landlord is moving out on bad terms. The other landlord will remain living in the house and has authorized for the changing of all exterior locks. Our rental agreement states that when locks are changed keys must immediately be given to the landlord. How does that work if there are two landlords and one lives on property? The departing landlord should have no reason to enter since all lawful entry requests can be handled by the landlord still residing in the house.
