Q: An off-leash dog bit me in a city park where dogs must be leashed. What will happen to the dog if I sue the owner?

A: It depends on the local dog laws. If you sue the dog owner the owners homeowners should pick up the claim.

A: Nothing if the dog had its shots. If it didn't may be kept in quarantine. Did you report it to police or dog warden? Problem is if the owner doesn't get spanked they'll think because someone told them its ok it's ok and then their dog will go bite some child.

By the time suit is filed, if it has to be, all this will be long gone and the dog will be where they are--the claims process has nothing to do with the dog.
