Arden, NC asked in Traffic Tickets for North Carolina

Q: I was speeding and an officer turned around to come pull me over, Instead of pulling over I tried to get away...

I’m 17 years old and I made a huge mistake.

I tried to escape by entering a community and losing him, I did, but shortly after was pulled over, when he found me back on the main road I stopped immediately. He pulled me over, made my friend get in the drivers seat and drive down the road to the gas station, had me call my parents to come down there, and issued me 4 citations... I just moved here to North Carolina from Arizona so I got one for “driving without a license” even though I had my arizona license. Then I got one for dangerous driving. Another for speeding 20 over, and another for “not stopping for an emergency vehicle” same citation that would be written if I didn’t stop for a firetruck.

A few questions:

What are likely my fines?

Will they let me back on the road again?

Any advice for me in court?

(Keep in mind it does not say I ran from the police, but could probably be speculated)

Also what are the chances the officer will be there? And if he is am I screwed?

A: You are asking questions like you are gonna roll up into court, stand tall before the man and handle this on your own. That would be incredibly stupid and if you do that, you would be screwing yourself way harder than the officer being there would (and he will be there). Go hire a traffic attorney before you make another huge mistake.

A: You REALLY, REALLY need to retain legal counsel. Going it alone in court would be a tremendous mistake.

Making mistakes is part of growing up. . .as is working to clear up your legal issues. Asking questions is an important first step. So that's great.

Criminal Defense Lawyers normally provide what's called a "FREE CONSULTATION." That means you can call a defense attorney in North Carolina, ask questions, and see how they can help.

Defense lawyers like helping people. That's what we do. That's why we went to law school.

Wherever you are in NC, consult with an experienced attorney. It also probably would be a good idea not to post any more information online / public format.

Everything you tell a lawyer in consultation is confidential. Lawyers keep secrets. That way you can explain everything that happened without fear of them telling anyone.

Good legal advice, just like good decisions on how to move forward, start with good information.

Call a lawyer immediately.

Thanks for the inquiry. Best of luck to you!
