Dundee, MI asked in Criminal Law for Michigan

Q: When should I get a lawyer for charges over larceny of elderly personal property?

A senior I provided elderly home care services for has accused me of stealing (market value less than $200), and my employer has reported to Elder Protection Services. No investigation has started that I am aware of, and I was told I would be suspended if one starts. How can I be best prepared for any procedures to start, if they were to? Could you please advise me on any precautions or caution I should be aware of, so I could better handle the situation as it unfolds?

A: It would not hurt to talk with an attorney now, but certainly before you are called to answer to any Adult Protective Services worker or police detective.
