Baxley, GA asked in Child Custody and Family Law for Georgia

Q: Is it possible to have a lawyer write up/judge sign a document stating dad doesn’t have custody per GACode Title19 Ch7?

The Navy will not accept the GA Code Title 17 Ch.7 Article 2 as proof that I do not have custody of my son. I need a court document stating I don’t have custody per this law so I can go active duty military. How do I go about this? Is it even possible to write something like this? Me and the child’s mother do not want to go to court for custody. We’d like to keep it how it is.

A: The two of you can sign a consent Legitimation order with sole custody to the mother. It has to be filed in court and signed by a judge.
